the asian girl there with glasses totally messed up my hair and i will never be back. she overcharged me for her services and told me she was a color educator but she got the black dye all over my face and didn't even have a good quality shampoo to wash my hair out with. my hair felt like straw and smelled like bleach for weeks. never going back there.

I forgot to add the young woman who was berated and chased by Patricia, was a very tiny, docile softly spoken black woman. I saw when she came in, I saw how Patricia eyed her, I heard what she told Patricia, "that she should be more friendly in her facial expressions to customers". I saw how Patricia who was much taller than her towered over her with her swear words and punching the walls. I too was scared, just imagine how this petite woman felt, she was crying and saying to Patricia, I am sorry, I just wanted to give a word of advice. and through it all even through the young womans tears Poonam stood there, like it was ok for Patricia to treat the "abeed" so disrespectfully. (You and Poona should know the meaning of abeed). Then she HUGGED! Patricia, and they acted like they were in some sorierity. Hence my earlier comment, that she is not intune with the fact that not all her customers will be of her race/nationality.Shameless!

P I am too the same race as Poonam (hint: my name is Meena).

I am new to the area, and I dont know how its done if this is common in Burnaby/Vancouver/Your area, But Poonam is lacking: professionalism, leadership (she allowed her staff to berate a customer and stood there, after the customer left she hugged Patricia and I a new customer sat there witnessing it all). When I walked into the store she was "hanging out" with the thuggish young boys who forgive me to say that (though they were Persians also) they looked like they sell drugs(big gold chains, outrageous hair dos and Gucci/LV side bags). This was a recount of my experience, if you do not like what I say or you think I should be more patriotic because we are all Persians, you are mistaken...its best you speak to Poonam, because she will drive this business to the ground.

I've been to ephod a couple of times, and was not impressed with the service I received one bit. There was a complete lack of professionalism. Meena's comment is completely appropriate, I believe. Her comments are not "racial" at all, infact they are the complete opposite. Is it too much to ask for an owner of a store to be open and friendly? Obviously, Meena is expressing her personal opinion based on an experience she had with Poonum. I will not be returning to this place. The owners that were there before did a wonderful job of running it. The other reviews about this store would concur.

I have been to Ephod and dealt with patricia a few times... i think she has a strong personality but I do not find her to be rude. and as for the comment by "Meena" i do not think it is fair for you to say that "poonam" "is not intune with the fact that her customers will not be made up of women of her race". why are you making this racial?? unless she made a racial comment at you I think it is unfair for you to make such judgements...I am of the same "race" as Poonam and i find your comment offensive... if you did not like the service then thats completely fine and you have every right to voice your concerns...but dont make it racial...

The women at Ephod are rude! The black woman there I believe her name is Patricia is rude!! The owner whose name is Panoom (i believe) is not intune with the fact that her customers will not be made up of women of her race. She is cold and unfriendly. On my first and last visit, there were thug-like young men sitting about, just "hanging out"

The atmosphere is not professional at all.

Plus I witnessed Patricia (the black woman) "told off" a customer and followed the young woman, threatening that if she ever steps back in the store, she will " see what mental look likes" What gives?
